The story of Central Community Church began in the winter 1863 in the midst of the Civil War with 10 believers under the name of the Missionary Baptist Church of Christ Worshipping at Pleasant Grove. The church operated under the leadership of part time pastors for the next 40 years in a one room log cabin shared with a group of Methodists. Around the turn of the century, the church moved south ½ a mile and built the beginnings of a building that would house the church under the name of Pleasant Grove Baptist for the next 100 years...
